Featured Artist: Jerod Alexander Davies's Bio

Jerod Davies is a mulch-faceted self-taught artist raised in Dallas, Texas, by way of Grand Rapids, Michigan. Coming from a long line of visual artists in his immediate family, he is heavily influenced by his encounters in the streets and his vivid imagination. His style is impossible to categorize, yet easy to describe: bold, direct, and an intimate grasp of the lost and forgotten. He has produced work for Dreamworks Jean Paul Gaultier, The Dallas Museum of Art, Children's Medical Center, American Airlines, the City of Dallas, and other notable clients.

I Live in Dallas coincidentally interviewed Jerod back in August on our second I Live In Dallas Radio show, Culinary Anarchy & Live Mural Painting at Bryan Street Tavern. Jerod is the leader of the Just-Us League, which is an art collective that has created over a dozen murals in Dallas. Find out more about Jerod on his website:?ThreeOfOne.co (yes, that's .co).

Featured Artist: Carolyn Collins

Carolyn Collins is best known for her intimate style and her contagious smile. Her voyeuristic glimpses, timeless documentaries, and pure abstracts stir the imagination, touch the soul, and instill a zest for life. "I'm horrible with names and facts, but I can recall the slightest smells, sounds, and sensory nuances of almostevery person, place and moment that I have experienced." Perhaps it is this abstract thought process that directs her focus to slightly different views of the world. "Music is my drug. Photography is my passion. Building bridges between people is my mission."

A 'closet photographer' since 2001, Carolyn finally made the leap in 2010 from a career in marketing & management to that of a full time freelance photographer. However, she began applying her passion to her mission in 2005. Through her blogs, she gained an audience for this interactive sharing of perspectives. Now known as the Photo-Ink Challenge?, this photographic interactive 'bridge-building' has further broadened to include several live appearances at music festivals, art events and community celebrations. You can find out more about Carolyn by visiting her website, her blog, and her Facebook fan page.

Featured Dallas Musical Artist: Joel Pipkin

Joel plays in many Dallas bands, vocal and instrumental, including: Vino Tinto Music (Gypsy Kings andSpanish Pop), Tres Uvas y Una Rosa (Son Montuno and Jazz), Bossa Duende (Brazilian Jazz and American Standards), The Boss LeVeL (Reggae and Rock), The Russ Hewitt Band (Nuevo Flamenco),?Marcelo Berestovoy Group (Argentinian Tangos and Spanish Rumbas), Gypsy Project (French Gypsy Manouche String Quartet), Blue Flamingo (Flamenco/Blues fusion), Jazz Gatos (Latin Jazz), The Front Porch Band (Rag Time). Needless to say, his style is quite eclectic. Find out more about Joel on his website and Facebook fan page.
