Four Paris Restaurants Loved by Locals | AnyTrip Blog

Paris Restaurants Loved by Locals

Written as part of Paris Food Week for our Love Paris giveaway.

My friends pore over ?best of? Paris restaurant lists and search the web for ?top dining in Paris,? but I?ve found the best way to scout out good restaurants is to ask a Parisian. By finding out where locals go and ordering like a Parisian, I?ve had some fabulous meals without wiping out my wallet.

When I?m in Paris I stay on the ?le Saint-Louis, and many of my favorite cafes and restaurants are within walking distance?

1. Sens?o

81 Rue Saint Louis en l?Ile

This Italian restaurant located on ?le Saint-Louis has some of the best Italian food that I?ve experienced in Paris. The calamari frite, veal saltimbocca, tomatoes and mozzarella salad are supreme ? all at very affordable prices. But my favorite is the pizza.? Order the Quatre Saisons pizza with artichokes, mushrooms, olives and ham ?emporter? (to go) and take it down to the bank of the Seine with a bottle of wine on a beautiful evening and party with the Parisians.

2. Sorza

Sorza

51 Rue Saint Louis

Open seven days a week, this charming 28-seat restaurant serving Italian cuisine offers a menu before 7pm that includes entr?e and plat for ?16.5o; add a glass of wine for ?4. Although 7pm is unfashionably early for Parisians who dine later, it?s possible to find some real menu values by dining before the sun sets (think early-bird special). Included on the menu is pesto spaghetti, spaghetti with basil, penne carbonara, and chicken with vegetables.? Although not offered on the set price menu, but available on the ?carte?, one of my favorite dishes is the gnocchi in Roquefort sauce ? divine.

3. Livingstone

106 rue Saint-Honor?

This restaurant is the most expensive of my favorite restaurants, but worth it. The website lists ?46 as the average price per person for a full meal, drinks/wine and service/tip ? which is about what I spent on a recent evening there. However, we didn?t observe the rules: we ordered vodka tonics, and side dishes of vegetables and rice.? We could have skipped the extras and ordered a glass of wine instead of cocktails and our bill would have been??40 less. Located on Rue Saint Honor? not far from Les Halles, Livingstone offers a beautiful ambiance and fabulous food.

4. La Rose de France

La Rose de France

24 place Dauphine

This gem, located on ?le de la Cit? not far from Notre Dame, is tucked away on a side street across from a park where the staff will bring you a class of wine while you wait on a bench until your table is ready.? The traditional French cuisine is superbe and they offer a wonderful menu that includes starter, main course and coffee; or main course, dessert and coffee for ?26.60.? Two of my favorite dishes are the lamb chops, the best I?ve eaten, and the steak with pepper sauce.
