According to the?Huffington Post, Olsen, 26, and Sarkozy, 43, brother of former French President Nicolas Sarkozy, are frequently spotted together at Knicks games. But at their most recent game on Sunday they were accompanied by a new addition: what looked like a gold wedding band on Olsen?s left ring finger.
While Olsen is often photographed in public wearing rings, the band she wore on Sunday doesn?t look quite like the kind she normally sports. Olsen, whose fashion choices are regularly chronicled on blogs and magazines, typically opts for embellished?statement rings, often piling on jewelry rather than wearing understated items, or single bands.
The distinction wasn?t lost on celebrity news sites, which immediately began speculating that the two had become engaged. The Huffington Post also highlighted a trip Olsen and Sarkozy had taken to Paris, where they were photographed shopping at a jewelry store together. The site reported that shortly after the shopping excursion, Olsen was also seen wearing a ring on the traditional wedding ring finger. But no sooner than the photos had emerged than a rep for Olsen dismissed the reports that the two were engaged, telling the publication that there was ?no truth? to them.
Adding to skepticism about the most recent rumors, the entertainment blog?SheKnows.com?pointed out that Olsen was also wearing a similar band on her right hand in the?photograph.
Olsen and Sarkozy?s relationship has consistently provided tabloid fodder ever since the pair first revealed their relationship, in May 2012, by engaging in regular PDA sessions at basketball games.
Back in August, when it was reported that Sarkozy, a successful investor, had been?shopping around for homes?in New York City, the?New York Post?claimed that the pair were already contemplating moving in together.
According to the Post, part of Sarkozy?s decision to go ahead and spend $6.25 million on a 146-year-old townhouse was so that he could spend more time with Olsen, and because she approved of the property. A real estate insider who spoke to the publication said that the two both liked ?that it is old.?
The house-hunting news came after?Us Weekly?reported that Olsen was drawn to Sarkozy because of his ?maturity.??
"[Mary-Kate] is constantly complaining about boys not being mature enough for her," the source said. "Now being a businesswoman dominates her time, and she is rarely impressed."
Neither Olsen or Sarkozy have addressed the latest engagement rumor.
