The current debate on Greece and the Eurozone crisis is depressing and so are the riots in Athens. But you know what will never be depressing? Delicious Greek food. And you?ll find a lot of that at Blu Kouzina.
Nestled in a four-story building in Singapore, Blu Kouzina is a little slice of Greek heaven. I had dinner there last Friday and it was simply spectacular. This quaint restaurant is Greek-run and Greek-owned (the owners even have their own specially cultivated olive oil) so you can be assured of authenticity and the famous Greek hospitality.
Every dish I had was worth writing home about. The Saganaki with figs was a revelation ? it had an intense burst of flavor that defied any expectations. The seafood platter (came with sea bream, prawns and squid) was fresh and beautiful ? it reminded me of being in Mykonos and having seafood by the beach. The flavors were delicate and refined. The meat platter (came with beef patties, meatballs, lamb chops, beef kalamaki) was juicy and succulent. We completed the food with a few bottles of this great extra-dry wine from Santorini.
The good thing about being part of a party of 8 is that we could get away with ordering a lot more so I would recommend you grab a few of your friends and head down in a group to get a better taste of the menu. The thing that stands out in Blu Kouzina besides the food is the fact that you do feel like you?re on a little island in Greece just having a great night. Throw in warm service and amazing food and you have a cure for all things depressing.
