The NASDAQ OMX Group, Inc. and Cooking with the Troops (CwtT), a Lafayette-area charity, are teaming up for a very special Veterans Day event at Times Square in New York City.
Together, they are working to invite 200 veterans, troops, business leaders, dignitaries, and others to attend a festive event inside the NASDAQ MarketSite in Times Square featuring a series of cooking demonstrations by guest/celebrity chefs, a luncheon, and the NASDAQ Closing Bell Ceremony. This event will also include:
Participation by a group of up to dozen wounded troops interested in food careers who will arrive early in the week and take part in a series of events culminating in the NASDAQ celebration
Planed participation by some very special veterans of World War II
Possible participation by actors from the Band of Brothers series
Other special (surprise) guests
Sponsorships are still available. All sponsors will be listed in press releases from NASDAQ OMX and Cooking with the Troops, and will have their logos displayed on the NASDAQ MarketSites 7 story tall video tower in Times Square that day. In addition, new and social media will be used to thank the sponsors as well. Cooking with the Troops is a 501(c)(3) charity, and all sponsorships can provide tax advantages.
